I wanted to write a blog capturing the sweet sweet moments that God gave us at AIM’s campus these past couple months. I can’t put it into words of how in awe I am to walk in the goodness of God day after day, but here’s my attempt :
When I showed up here September 2nd, I was terrified (like cried almost the entire 12 hour car ride) I was broken by past hurts that I hadn’t forgiven, and I was barely holding on for dear life to the only good thing it felt like I had; God. But piece by piece and session by session, the Lord revealed Himself in every single aspect of my life, even the things I wasn’t going to tell anyone. All of my fears were conquered by great love. The box I put God in for my entire life was diminished as quickly I realized how freeing it is to not hold on to everything on my own. I hate that it took me going on the world race to see this, but at the same time I’m really glad it did. There’s not another group of people that I would want to do this thing alongside, Gap C, you’re great.
Gabe, one of AIM’s Guatemala base staff, was here in Georgia teaching this past week, and was telling the story of the bathtub that they use for baptisms. He said that there was a crack in it, but it was something that they had repurposed for something beautiful; bringing glory to God through dedications and re dedications. That made me think of our time here in Georgia , America is broken and hurting, but we have been made vessels to bring love and something better to the people of DeQuincy and Gainesville, because He had that for us all along. And I know that I am not going home the same, not only am I healed, free, and new, but I am excited to be a vessel to the randomest places of Illinois and anywhere else I end up.
Here are some pics (mostly because my blog’s short) but also because I love them:
