On one of the first days here one of our team leaders said “you won’t go home the same” that really scared me at first but I am constantly in awe of how beautifully the Father is transforming in the best ways. Sooooo I decided to make a list of just some of the things that I have learned on the race to show just how good He is.

Change is good.

I was terrified to come on the race, my biggest fear was raising all the money and doing all the stuff and then realizing it wasn’t for me. Very quickly, I realized that wasn’t the case and that I actually love this new thing that I adapted to so quickly. I’ve also realized that sharing things with your brothers and sisters that you have noticed in them that isn’t Christlike is so so healthy and great!!! Feedback changes everything.

Things mean nothing.

My closet full of clothes, my bed, my phone, mean nothing in the Kingdom. Those aren’t the things that are going to bring joy or eternal life. My friend Elijah paraphrased a scripture this morning that really stuck out to me… he said “if everything we have is perishable, then a rich man has just the same as a poor man.” YEA THAT’S GOOD

Love is a choice.

Spending almost every waking moment with 29 other people has shown me that I have a choice. A choice to walk in love and honor to those around me or to walk in selfish ambition. This same is true with the Lord, I can wake up and move on my own time and my own selfish desires, or I can receive His mercies and then be a living example of that throughout my day. I just started a book called “Holiness, truth, and the presence of God” One line that really stuck out to me was “Maturity starts as we break the cycle of seeking God only during hardship; holiness begins the moment we seek God for Himself. A touch from God is wonderful but we are in pursuit of more than just an experience more than : ” goose bumps and tears.” We are seeking to abide with Christ, where we are continually aware of His fullness within us, where His presence dwell in us in glory.”

Learning and growing is so fun

Every single day I am realizing the change and refinement that is a display  of the new life I’ve been given. Growth isn’t easy and it’s actually often painful to let the Lord prune me, but it is so worth it, why wouldn’t I want to become a clearer reflection of who Jesus is everyday ?

THE LORD PROVIDES

In June, we were told that we wouldn’t be able to launch in September and that if things worked out we would be able to do so in January. Since then, I have chosen to walk in the Lord’s will instead of my own. The Lord is faithful and so so  good, and were officially launching in January!! No more “hopefully launching”. Really stoked and really grateful for my God.

I am $620 away from being fully funded, if you feel called to help me or want to know in depth about fundraising and what that has looked like for me, I would love to set up a call with you.

thank you, love you all!

  2. Kayla these things are so good! I am glad you’re documenting the ways you’re growing… it’s so important to do so! I love the part about seeking to abide! That’s one of the most important things in live I’ve learned!
