Welcome or welcome back to the blog,

One of my personal favorite ways of keeping myself accountable in spending time with the Lord and in His Word has been doing YouVersion (or the bible app) bible studies. I recently completed one titled “Getting To Know The Real You”, a study all about discovering who God says you are and finding your true identity in him. I genuinely got a lot out of it and even rated it 5 out of 5 stars (!!!). On the 2nd day of the study, I read about the idea of coming to Christ and how it is such a celebrated thing in the lives of those who follow Jesus. Often, it is so monumental in christians lives, they remember it forever. Hearing of and witnessing other people coming to Christ is one of life’s greatest things and also the inspiration behind this blog post 🙂

While watching a livestream of my church, our pastor said something right before praying that really stuck out to me because of how similar it was to what I had read about just the night before. He said something along the lines of  “Whether this be your 1st or your 1000th time, let it be true.” I said Yes to Christ the first time on a random June 2011 night and because I worship such an amazing God there’s been countless times that I have come running back and said yes all over again.

Coming to Christ is so life changing, but it is also so restorative. We have been given the gift of doing it time and time again. We mess up, we sin, we are weak, but God will not forsake us, God will not leave us, and He surely won’t stop us from coming to him again and again, restoring ourselves in His name. He won’t run out of chances for us to come “home”.

“For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin — because anyone who has died has been set free from him.” Romans 6:6-7
