We're home!!! After months and months of excitement, fear, prayer, and zoom calls here and there, we are all together in Georgia finally, and it feels so good. I arrived the evening of September 2nd and have only been here 3 days but it's felt like forever, in the best way. The connections r with my squadmates has been so sweet & incredibly natural. The feeling of being surrounded by like minded devoted christians is so so great.  I immediately felt like family with  each of them. God’s blessed all of us with the best squad!!

We set up our tents (&enos) and plan to sleep in them until it gets cold. We took our first bucket shower which was one of the highlights of all our days. Especially after spending our days in the Georgia heat walking all around AIM’s campus, bucket showers are such a blessing (never thought i’d say that). Porta potties, not so much.

The Lord has been so undeniably present in these past few days. Teaching me what it means and tangibly looks like to fully surrender everything, how to reconcile and forgive, and to live my life for Him rather than the approval of other people. Today, we spent two hours in rest and reflection for sabbath and I realized how needed and beneficial it is to be still and just listen to what the Lord has to say to me .

Learning to set up a tent (& sleeping in it), being far from everyone I love so much, & giving up difficult  things to God has been so challenging but so so worth it. The way of living and experiencing things has been so out of my comfort zone and different, but I’m realizing what truly makes me joyful. And it isn’t showers, real toilets, or even my bed, but only  the almighty Father who can fulfill my hunger.
World Race, I think I love you.

Luv & miss (y'all) so much

Kayla
